From 'The Moon Goddess' by Judy Gaskell

'The Moon Goddess' with art by Patse Hemsley

On a Wave of Truth

They dance their dance
With frightening speed,
Crashing, splashing all they see
Tossing, turning in the dark;
Storming, swirling through the air.
Like falling stars they disappear;
In lullabies to mermaid dreams,
Safe silent hours bring angel dust,
To scatter on the changing scene.

Passing on the Spirit by Patse Hemsley

Passing on the Spirit

Shadows swathed in speckled star-dust,
Traversing the universe;
Their opaque colours swirling
In radiant rays
That reach around
The tips of icebergs.
We can feel a glow pulsating
Through torrential oceans.
Watch as they brush the shores
Caressing a land filled
With purple thrift.
