Counselling In-Depth

Bereavement, Loss and Separation

This is a natural, normal state of being which needs to be sensitively worked through in order for the grief to be processed, understood, and eventually let go of in one's own way and own time. The mourning state can take up to two years to heal; to delay the process can cause a state of melancholia which can manifest as a circle of depression.

I first visited Judy in a very lonely, desperate time in my life. I had tried lots of ways of dealing with difficult events, but kept faltering. Through a gradual and often painful process, I have finally been able to put past events to rest: the sense of calm, peace, and acceptance I have found through counselling has been wonderful.
